The Parable: The Tale of Two Wolves

I have always loved parables, fairy tales, lyrics, and the such as it gives you an opportunity to see how someone else has distilled their inner wisdom into a succinct passage. While, not all of these stories may resonate with you, when you do find one that strikes a chord, you tend to remember it as a life lesson.

One of my favorites is the parable of the tale of the two wolves.

A grandfather is talking with his grandson and he says there are two wolves inside of us which are always at battle.

One is a good wolf which represents things like kindness, bravery, and love. The other is a bad wolf, which represents things like greed, hatred, and fear.

The grandson stops and thinks about it for a second then he looks up at his grandfather and says, “Grandfather, which one wins?”

The grandfather quietly replies, “The one you feed.”

This resonates with me for so many reasons. To me, do you want to feed the fears that you have that are in the future that you cannot even control, or feed your present moment. The moment in which you are living, right now.
